Our Story

YesYork is owned and run by a diverse group of highly experienced, qualified and multi talented people with backgrounds in business, academics, training and coaching.

Between us we have lived in many different parts of the world including Italy, France, Peru, Hong Kong, Norway, Libya, Germany and Portugal and we all share a deep interest in travel and experiencing new cultures. More than this, we all know how important communication is and the challenges of communicating in another language. Our expertise lies in helping mature adults, over 40s and families to develop skills in English whilst at the same time introducing you to British culture and history.

As a truly diverse group we also have many different interests which we can use to enrich your experience with us. As well as culture and history our trainers can share many activities with you. The profiles below will give you an idea of things we like to do and talk about.

The trainers at Yes York have worked together in different ways for many years. We created this company based on our common values. A person-centred approach is key to everything we do. We believe in flexibility and quality so that we can adapt our training to your needs and make sure you have a great experience.

York is the perfect place for anyone interested in history, culture and the countryside. The city has a rich history dating back to before the Romans.  What is more, that history has been protected and preserved. Walking around the city you see the medieval walls, the magnificent cathedral and the old narrow streets. You can find buildings from every period of England’s history. York is in North Yorkshire, an area of outstanding beauty and from here it is easy to go walking in the Yorkshire Moors, the Yorkshire Dales and along the cliffs and beaches of the east coast. If you want to travel further, York is on the main railway line halfway between London and Edinburgh. Only two hours to London. The Northumberland Coast and the Lake District are also excellent weekend trips.
